BED AND BREAKFAST TERMS AND TARIFFS

The front of the house

Ardtreck Cottage is open to guests from 1st March to 31st October. We are closed for the months of November, December, January and February.

Check-in time at the Cottage is between 5.00PM and 6.00PM, and we expect guests to arrive by 6.00PM wherever possible.

We understand that there may be situations, such as ferry timetables or flight schedules, when it is not possible to arrive by 6.00PM. If those circumstances apply please let us know your travel schedule as soon as possible before your date of arrival.

If you are unexpectedly or unavoidably delayed on your journey to Ardtreck Cottage please telephone to let us know when you might expect to arrive.

The latest acceptable check-in time, in exceptional circumstances, is 8.00PM. Rooms are not available after 8.00PM except by prior arrangement at time of booking.

Guests are requested to vacate their rooms by 10.00AM and the Cottage is normally closed to guests between 10.00AM and 5.00PM.

Ardtreck Cottage is a traditional B&B which means it is also our home and we do not employ staff to assist us in catering for guests or servicing and cleaning rooms.

When we are not catering for guests, we have our own domestic requirements and chores to meet. We also live in a relatively remote part of Skye so even a simple shopping trip can take half a day!

We therefore ask for your understanding on this issue and that you respect our check-in, and room vacating times, while you are staying with us.

Bed & Breakfast Accommodation Tariff & Terms 2010

The 2010 accommodation tariff, including breakfast, is £32/person/night (£64/room) for double occupancy of any room and £40/night for single occupancy of a room.

We offer a 10% discount on the accommodation tariff for bookings of four, or more, nights.

In the months of May to September (inclusive) and on Bank Holiday weekends (Friday to Monday inclusive) the minimum booking period is two nights.

Single night bookings may be accepted, subject to availability. The tariff for single night bookings in those periods is £35/person for double occupancy of a room and £45/person for single occupancy.

We require a non-refundable booking deposit of £30/room booked from guests resident in the UK in the form of a cheque made payable to "John and Irene Curren". (We do not require a booking deposit from overseas guests.)

If a booking is cancelled up to 48 hours prior to the arrival date then any booking deposit paid will be non-refundable. If a booking is cancelled within 48 hours of the arrival date then we may charge 100% of the B&B accommodation cost of the booking if we are unable to re-let the room.

Payments should be in cash (sterling) or by cheque drawn on a UK bank. We are unable to accept payments by credit card.

Our maximum room occupancy is two people per room and as we do not have "family room" accommodation children will occupy rooms on their own and, as a result, we are unable to accept bookings which include children under the age of 14 years.

We do not accept bookings which include pets, of any description, even if they stay in the car.

Ardtreck Cottage is strictly non-smoking and we will apply an additional accomodation charge to guests who smoke in the rooms.

Evening Meals

We can also provide a 3 course evening meal, by prior arrangement, at a cost of £16.50p per person. Meals must be booked, and confirmed, no later than one week before the date of arrival at the Cottage.

We can also provide packed lunches at a cost of £5.50 per person. Packed lunches should be ordered on the day before they are required

Locally The Old Inn in Carbost, about 10 minutes drive from the Cottage, provides evening meals. There is also a good selection of excellent restaurants and pubs, offering a wide choice of menus and price, in Portree, Broadford and Dunvegan, all within reasonable travelling distances from the house. There are other excellent restaurants, slightly further afield, in Stein on the Waternish peninsula and for special occasions there is the Ullinish Lodge Hotel, near Struan, and for very special occasions the famous Three Chimneys restaurant at Colbost, near Dunvegan.
