Bed & Breakfast Accommodation Tariff 2013

We have held our prices for a further year at the 2011 rates of £35/person/night (£70/room) for double occupancy of a room; and £55/night for single occupancy of a room; for bookings of two, or more, nights.

Single night bookings will be charged at £40/person/night (£80/room) for double occupancy; and £60/night for single occupancy of any room, subject to availability (see below).

We also continue to offer a discount of 10%, on the accommodation tariff, for bookings of four, or more, nights.

We require a, non-refundable, booking deposit of £50/room to confirm all bookings.

Bookings can be made on-line by going to the "MAKE A BOOKING" page, checking room availability, and then clicking on the blue button to proceed with the booking. To confirm the booking a deposit is required, by credit card via PayPal (you don't need a PayPal account to make the payment).

You will then receive an automatic email from our booking site confirming the booking and a receipt, from PayPal, for the deposit payment. We will also send you our own email confirmation as soon as possible after we are notified of the booking by our booking site.

The rest of the bill is then payable on departure from the Cottage.

Payment of the final bill can be either in cash, by credit card, or by cheque drawn on a UK bank. Credit card payments are subject to an additional payment of 4% of the final bill.

Opening and Check-in Times

Ardtreck Cottage is open to guests from 1st March to 31st October. We are closed for the months of November, December, January and February.

Check-in time at the Cottage is between 5.00pm and 6.00pm, and we expect guests to arrive by 6.00pm wherever possible.

We understand that there may be situations, such as ferry timetables or flight schedules, when it is not possible to arrive by 6.00pm. If those circumstances apply please let us know your travel schedule as soon as possible before your date of arrival.

If you are unexpectedly or unavoidably delayed on your journey to Ardtreck Cottage please telephone to let us know when you might expect to arrive.

A later check-in time may be possible, by prior arrangement only and subject to the requirements of other guests, however the latest acceptable check-in time is 8.00pm. Rooms are not available after 8.00pm

Guests are requested to vacate their rooms each day by 10.00am and the Cottage is normally closed to guests between 10.00am and 5.00pm.

Ardtreck Cottage is a traditional B&B, which means that we offer guests accommodation in our own home.

Although we provide accommodation for paying guests Ardtreck Cottage is not a Guest House or a small B&B hotel but our home and we live here permanently so, when we are not catering for guests or servicing guests bedrooms, we have our normal daily lives to get on with which may mean that we need to be away from the house during the afternoon and, as we live in a relatively remote part of Skye, even a simple shopping trip to Portree can take half a day!

While we are aware that the concept of a traditional B&B is often not fully understood by overseas guests, and we apologise if our room vacating times and times when the Cottage is closed to guests may seem restrictive, we will always try to be as flexible as we can in meeting guests' individual requirements. We can however only ask for your understanding on this matter while you are staying with us.

Single Night Bookings

The minimum booking in the period from 1st May 2013 to 31st August 2013, is two nights. Single night bookings at other times will only be accepted subject to availability and an additional charge (see accommodation tariffs above.)

Cancellation

If you need to cancel your booking because of changed circumstances please let us know as quickly as possible.

Cancellations within 48 hours of the arrival date may be charged at 100% of the total B&B accommodation cost of the booking if we are unable to re-let the room.

Room Occupancy

The maximum room occupancy is two people per room.

We do not have "family room" accommodation and as children will occupy rooms on their own we are unable to accept bookings which include children under the age of 14 years. Children over 14 years are charged at the full adult rate.

Pets

We cannot accept bookings which include pets, of any description, even if they stay in the car.

Smoking

Ardtreck Cottage is strictly non-smoking and we will apply an additional accomodation charge to guests who smoke in the rooms.

Evening Meals & Packed Lunches

We can provide evening meals at the Cottage, by prior arrangement, at a cost of £17.50 per person for a three course meal or £13.50 per person for two courses. We can also provide just a bowl of home-made soup and bread for £4.50 per person if you prefer.

Evening meals are served at 7.00pm only.

Breakfasts and evening meals are provided in the guests’ dining room and as this is a home, rather than a hotel, we invite guests to eat at one table. (See Accommodation page)

Bookings for evening meals on your first night at Ardtreck Cottage should be confirmed at least one week before your arrival date. Bookings for meals on other nights can be made when you are at the Cottage.

Packed lunches can be provided at a cost of £6.50 per person, including filling your own flasks with tea or coffee if required. Packed lunches should be ordered the night before they are required
